What is my case worth?

Every case is unique and must be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. The valuation of a case is a very complicated process. There are generally two types of damages – economic and non-economic. Economic damages are hard money items, like lost wages, the cost of medical treatment or therapy, and the cost of assistive devices. For these types of damages we hire expert economists and rehabilitation specialists to assist us and the jury in understanding economic loss and coming up with a figure.

Non-economic damages, such as pain and suffering, are much harder to place a number on. We have been evaluating cases for many years and are experienced in making these determinations, taking into consideration all aspects of the case. We are also mindful, as you should be, that although it is someone’s life or health that has been lost, we will never even attempt to place a value on life or health – that’s priceless. We are addressing the value of a lawsuit – a case – which is entirely different.
